Knowledge Transfer wins 112k DTI
SMART Award - May 2000
Knowledge Transfer, the Cambridge-based internet software and services company, today announces a 112,000 SMART development grant from the DTI. The SMART scheme is a competition for small UK companies with highly innovative technologies.
The award will fund development of KT's collaborative working prototype into a platform for a range of commercial products. To win, the company had to satisfy the SMART judges that its ideas are feasible, and can be made into real products that will flourish in the marketplace.
Founder and Chief Executive Hamish McCallum says "winning
this award, in the face of tough competition, is a huge boost
for us. The financial support will help us to move our plans
forward much faster. And the moral support is just as important:
doing something entirely new can be a lonely business, and
there's never a shortage of people to tell you that you're
wrong! The SMART Award from the DTI is a real vote of confidence."
