forcomment launches new document-feedback service for professionals

dated 12 January 2004

forcomment, a new service from award-winning company, Knowledge Transfer Technology Ltd, was launched today. This internet-based document handling service is set to revolutionise the way professionals work with items such as reports, contracts, manuals, accounts, technical drawings and even press releases!

Until now, someone seeking feedback on a document would email it to ten contacts and get ten copies of the file back, each subtly different.

Now, forcomment allows many people, located anywhere, access to a single copy of a document, on which they can make their comments. The system tracks the comments and proposed rewordings more effectively and comprehensively than any other solution on the market.

All the collation of comments and rewording is done, in one place as well as a complete record of who has looked at the document, when they did, and what they said. And because there is no traffic in word-processor files, the risk of virus infection is hugely reduced.

For the document owner, what was a chaotic process is now simple, organised, and secure.

This is especially important where the views of many people have to be considered, or where the document has value - legal documents, confidential company plans, and so on.

forcomment is aimed at professional groups such as lawyers, accountants, human resource specialists, architects and technical authors all knowledge workers, in fact. The cost of the service is less than 20 for most documents.

Users who have experienced forcomment in trials say: Its so easy to make your comments: you just click where you want to have your say, and do it. You can see what other people have written - and you know that your feedback will be seen too!

Head of Sales for forcomment, Paul Davies, remarks: This is the first step towards ending the chaos of getting feedback on documents via email. forcomment is secure, virus-free and a lot less hassle for document owners. Its the way of the future.
